Show Up

Showing up is half the battle

Hoffman & Casnocha* quote Bo Peabody as, “The best way to ensure that lucky things happen is to make sure a lot of things happen”. They further stress that opportunities are attached to persons, not free-standing.  Thus, this means you must participate in a range of activities where others are present to make things happen, to optimize your opportunities.

You have a range of opportunity groups-- at the local level, as well as those involving state, specialty, or national groups. There are many relevant online communities.  Mentoring communities.  Formation of your own formalized networks.  History is rich is examples from  Benjamin Franklin establishing the Junto, to early titans of industry creating their own “Mastermind” groups, to current “MeetUp” options.  Earlier blogs encourage participation in networking, as it is critical part of any leadership goal.  This is a reminder of the importance of such connectivity.  Other related blogs are available via searching the topic of networking.

Remember (as several are quoted) “Showing up is half the battle”.  Show up regularly, be present and engaged.
