Emerson’s Words to Live and Lead By

Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved  without enthusiasm.

(Ralph Waldo Emerson)

I am constantly inspired by this quote attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson.  You can take the words from so many leadership frameworks and simply roll them into these six sentences.  It encourages us to follow our passion, be authentic, so much more! So in pursuit of leadership development, deconstruct this paragraph and commit to strive for this level of absolute enthusiasm in all that you do.  The pledge:

Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.  Whatever I do, I will:
  • do it with all my might
  • pour my whole soul into it
  • stamp it with my personality
  • be active, be energetic, and faithful
